.

This project consisted on rehabilitating floor sections and using decorative concrete to achieve a more attractive finish in different areas of the mall. This project is comprised by several different projects. The fist project consisted on refurbishing the entrances to Borders and Parisian’s by demolishing existing concrete slabs and pouring new concrete slabs. The entrances were replaced with concrete with integral color which was then stamped to give it a stone-like texture. The concrete was then cut and acid-stained with two different colors. The second project consisted on rehabilitating the floor of the food court plaza using a brick pattern . Over 83,000 s.f. of existing concrete were grinded to remove top layer and a base coat was applied before applying a cement-based mixture which gives it the color and texture. The patterns are achieved by using a brick template. The third project consisted on rehabilitating some sections of the interior floor. On damaged areas, the concrete was grinded to remove existing coating and color layer. Cracks were then repaired by applying micro-coating, a cement based material. The concrete was cut and acid stained to match existing pattern and color. The floor was then sealed with a slip-resistant sealer which gives the concrete its glossy look while protecting the color of the concrete. The final project consisted on repairing the main stair s leading to the second floor . The steps were grinded and were then finished by applying an epoxy coating with color. The epoxy not only provides high volume traffic wear resistance but also provides a consistent and uniform color base.
